How do I remove GST from a price?
Divide by 1.1 to get the price without GST, or divide by 11 to get the GST itself. A $110 price contains $10 of GST, not $11.00.
How do I add GST?
Multiply the net price by 1.1. $100 plus 10% GST is $110.
Which items are GST-free?
Most basic food, some medical and health services, most education courses and exports are GST-free. Businesses only charge GST if they are registered for it.
