30-Second Answer
Pick your destination. This is the fastest reliable option for each one.

  • Seoul StationAREX Express train — nonstop43 min from T1 / 51 min from T2, ₩13,000 discounted rate, reserved seat
  • Hongdae (홍대)AREX All-stop train — direct, no transfer~59 min from T1, about ₩4,450

Arrival Navigation: From the Gate to Your Ride

Incheon Airport arrival navigation diagram From the arrival gate, go to the 1st floor exit doors, then either the curb (doors 3 to 7) for buses and taxis, or down to the B1 Transportation Center for the AREX train. T1 shown. T2 skips the curb branch entirely — almost everything is one floor down at B1.

  1. 1. Clear immigration and collect your bags. Confirm which building you're in — T1 and T2 are separate structures 15–18 km apart with no walkway between them. Your airline decides which terminal you land at, so check your boarding pass before you land, not after.
  2. 2. Head for your transport. Buses and taxis leave from the curb, on the same floor you land on (T1: exit doors 3–7 for Seoul-bound buses; T2: go down to the basement bus terminal instead). Trains (AREX) are always one floor down, at the B1 Transportation Center of both terminals.
  3. 3. Match your route to an exact boarding point. Use the tables below — every bus route and taxi type has its own numbered platform, and they are not interchangeable.

Where Are You Going? The Route Matrix

Rule of thumb: carrying luggage or traveling as a group → take the limousine bus, it goes to one stop with no transfers. Traveling alone and want the shortest fixed time → AREX Express. Traveling cheap → AREX All-stop.

Buy tickets at the counter near your boarding gate (T1: inside gates 4 and 9, or outside gates 4, 6, 7, 8, 11, 13; T2: inside the B1 Transportation Center), or straight from the driver. Travel time isn't published for any route — it depends on traffic, so build in a buffer if you have a connection downtown.

Arriving After Midnight

If you land late, the fixed-schedule options thin out fast. Immigration and baggage claim alone can take 30–60 minutes, so even a 22:00 landing can already miss the last limousine.

Last departures: AREX Express — T2 22:40 / T1 22:48 (Seoul Station 23:31). Bus 6015 (Myeongdong) — T1 23:19 / T2 22:59. Bus 6001 — T1 23:09 / T2 22:49. Bus 6701/6702 — T1 22:25 & 23:05, T2 22:05 & 22:45. Bus 6703 — T1 22:55 / T2 22:35. The free T1–T2 shuttle also stops running around 23:00.

The gap: roughly 23:30 to 00:30 has no scheduled limousine or night bus. Your options are a taxi (22:00–04:00 night surcharge, 20–40%) or waiting inside the terminal.

Night buses (first departure): N6000 to Gangnam Express Bus Terminal — T1 Gate 6 / T2 B1 28, first bus 00:50 / 00:30, fare not published. N6002 to Cheongnyangni — T1 Gate 6 / T2 B1 30, first bus 00:30 / 00:10, fare not published. N6701 to Dongdaemun — T2 B1 18 (T1 boarding point not listed), first bus 00:40 / 00:20, ₩18,000. N6703 to Gangnam — T2 B1 19 (T1 boarding point not listed), first bus 01:05 / 00:45, ₩18,000.

First AREX Express of the morning: T2 05:16 / T1 05:24, arriving Seoul Station 06:07.

Transit Cards & Payment

WOWPASS kiosk (T1)CU T1 1st store. Unmanned currency exchange plus a prepaid card that also works as a T-money transit card — one stop for both.
WOWPASS kiosk (T2)GS25 T2 Arrival store, or CU T2 3rd store.
CashLimousine buses are usually paid at the ticket counter near the gate, or straight to the driver.
Credit cardAccepted for AREX Express bookings and limousine ticket counters. Whether every foreign-issued card works everywhere isn't officially confirmed — carry some cash as backup.

There is no officially confirmed spot to buy a plain T-money card inside the airport itself. If you don't need the extras WOWPASS offers, it's simplest to pick one up at the first subway station you reach in Seoul.

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I at T1 or T2?
Check your airline before you land — it's on your boarding pass and ticket confirmation. T1 and T2 are separate buildings 15–18 km apart with no walking connection, so once you clear immigration you can only move between them by the free shuttle bus or AREX.
I landed at the wrong terminal. How do I get to the right one?
Take the free inter-terminal shuttle. From T1, board on the 3rd floor (departure level) at central Gate 8; it takes about 15 minutes to T2. From T2, board on the 3rd floor between Gates 4 and 5; it takes about 18 minutes to T1. Buses run roughly every 10 minutes, 05:00–23:00. AREX also connects the terminals in about 6 minutes for a ₩1,050 fare.
What's the single fastest way to Seoul Station?
The AREX Express train — a nonstop 43-minute ride from T1 (51 minutes from T2) for ₩13,000 at the current discounted rate. Seats are reserved, so book ahead if you can.
Do I need to book the limousine bus in advance?
No. Tickets are sold at counters near the boarding gates (T1: inside gates 4 and 9, or outside gates 4, 6, 7, 8, 11, 13; T2: inside the B1 Transportation Center) or from the driver.
What if I land after the last train and bus?
See "Arriving After Midnight" above — there's a gap of roughly an hour with no scheduled service, so budget for a taxi (which carries a 20–40% surcharge between 22:00 and 04:00).
Where do I get a T-money transit card?
The most reliable option at the airport is a WOWPASS kiosk (CU T1 1st store in T1; GS25 Arrival store or CU 3rd store in T2), which issues a prepaid card that also works as a transit card. There's no officially confirmed spot inside the airport to buy a plain T-money card, so many travelers pick one up once they reach a subway station in Seoul.
Can I use a foreign credit card on the AREX Express or the limousine buses?
Credit cards are accepted for AREX Express bookings and at limousine ticket counters, but whether every foreign-issued card works isn't officially confirmed — bring some cash as a backup.
